Mark Whetzel and his Jazz Guys will be joining us this year at the August 5, 2018 Wine and Oyster Festival On Sunny Slope Farm in support of the Artisan Center of Virginia. Come on out and listen to their jazz music as you taste wine from 10 other Shenandoah Valley Virginia Wineries.

Mark has taught guitar privately since 1983. In addition to having previously taught at James Madison University and Bridgewater College, he is currently on the faculty of Blue Ridge Community College as well as Eastern Mennonite University where he teaches all levels of guitar. Mark is also a member of Kaman Music’s Key Player Program. He has studied with some of the most respected and influential guitarists in the country including Andrew York, Tim Reynolds, John Abercrombie.

Mark’s work has also been featured in various music publications and websites including Guitarchalk.com, Americana Rhythm and Singer & Musician Magazine where his articles focused on theoretical and technical issues as they related specifically to fingerstyle and jazz guitarists.
